DF-PM™ Services are designed to provide you with the most flexible, thorough and cost-effective proactive management available for your Oracle® and Microsoft® SQLServer database environments.*

This plan provides the fundamental maintenance needed to minimally sustain a health working database environment. It also offers appliable current and historical graphical analysis, as well as accompanying documentation. The plan includes:

System Analysis: A documentation of all database objects and their locations, all users and their assigned roles and privileges, and all tablespaces/datafiles and their date of creation.

Backup Analysis: A compreshensive investigation and documentation effort ensuring a thorough knowledge of backup processes, including all information needed to recover from media failure.

Error Log Analysis Level I: Preventing small problems from becoming major disasters, this analysis providces detailed research into the alert/transaction logs of the database with appropriate documentation of any errors found, as well as an investigation into their cause.

Export Analysis: Complete documentation of all export information recorded since the last DF-PM™ visit, assisting in database health analysis and partial disaster recovery. This analysis includes and export set investigation and the documentation of all involved processes.

Freespace Analysis Level I: This analysis documents the total size of your tablespaces/datafiles and lists what space is available and what space is being wasted on your systems. It is also an extremely useful tool for growth estimates.

Redo Log Analysis: A dynamic report documenting the transactional activity of your database through time. This analysis includes an investigation that documents the date, size and location of appropriate redo logs and the number/frequency of their usage.

This plan gives you all the basics, PLUS it analyzes the databases objects and their data, providing you with a working knowledge of your business' data. Including applicable documentation, the Plus plan is a great preparation for your future data warehousing projects. In addition to all of the services offered in the Basic plan, the Plus Plan includes:

Disaster Recovery Analysis Level I: A reverse engineeering of the target database(s) including tablespaces, tables, indices and all entity/attribute constraints. This effort allows for the regeneration of the database with flexible data placement, and includes a recreation script. Perfect if you want to build development/test/stage environments based on production.

Error Log Analysis Level II: Detailed research in the logs of the communication layer (SQL*Net) of the database with appropriate documentation of any errors found and an analysis into their cause. An analsysis of the SQL*Net processes can avert many database replication, two phase commit and distributed database problems. Only available for Oracle® installations

Freespace Analysis Level II: Detailed investigation of tablespace/datafile fragmentation and the amount of space the fragmentation is wasting.

Table Analysis: An investigation into the size and number of rows in each table, the average size of the rows in each table and the number of extents/amount of fragmentation for each table.

Index Analysis: To complement the table analysis, the same process is applied to the indices in your database(s). The two combine to form a "living picture" of the data through time.

PL/SQL / T-SQL Analysis Level I: This documents all programmed objects (procedures, functions, packages and triggers) while analyzing their dependencies.

Performance Analysis Level I: This analysis focuses on database memory usage in order to optimize the various initialization parameters that control how much shared memory the database will utilize, and how it uses this memory.

This plan provides efficient application and database SQL performance analysis, and secures your backups off-site at our facility. In addition to all of the services offered in the Basic and Plus plans, the Premium Plan includes:

Disaster Recovery Analysis Level II: This procedure enhances Disaster Recovery Analysis Level I and incorporates off-site disaster recovery by remotely storing selected exports/backups at our facility. With this function, your disaster recovery strategy is that much secure and available.

Performance Analysis Level II: This analysis focuses on the online investigation of an application's SQL statements and how they relate to the database tables and indices. Through this analysis, great improvements can be made in any application's response times and resource utilization. Available for all database installations

PL/SQL / T-SQL Analysis Level II: This analysis investigates the SQL code that is utilized by each PL/SQL / T-SQL object. This complements Performance Analysis Level II in its examination of application SQL code, making your application even faster and more efficient.

* Not all services are available for Microsoft® SQLServer. Not all services will be possible in every given environment. Please check with us as to the customization of any and all aspects of service.

DF-PM™ Services are available to you with a variety of coverages. Your business needs will dictate how often the services should be performed.

The Bronze level of coverage will have Data Futures perform all services included in your plan once per month. This level of coverage is recommended only for businesses with minimal database activity.

The Silver level of coverage will have Data Futures perform all services included in your plan twice per month. This level of coverage is best for growing businesses with average database activity and revisions. It also makes pinpointing potential problems easier, preventing small issues from turning into future emergencies.

The Gold level of coverage will have Data Futures perform all services included in your plan once per week. Gold coverage is recommended for high-use, rapidly changing databases. Frequent maintenance ensures the highest level of performance, and offers the best protection against problems.
